I believe the source is reliable due to the fact that it was posted on JSTOR which is a reputable website that provides access to a multitude of peer-reviewed articles. However, the writer may not have been the most ideal choice. While she has experience in pop culture and has written for vogue, she is not affiliated with animation nor the history of it before this article.

Looking at this article has made me realise that I do not have a lot of knowledge regarding animation unions. This will be crucial in my future career since it will help me have an expectation of how I should be treated by employers and the different labour laws surrounding animation and other creative industries.
